On late Thursday afternoon of 05/28/2020 the Grant County EOC, on behalf of the Grant County Court, submitted a proposal to the State of Oregon for reimbursement of COVID-19 related costs, for the Grant County Health Department and EOC along with a request for millions of dollars of aid to local businesses. The Malheur National Forest recreation staff announced Thursday, that starting Monday, June 1, 2020, nearly all developed recreation sites that had been closed will be opened. These sites include campgrounds, restrooms, trailheads, trailhead facilities, boat ramps and day use areas. At this time all recreation rental sites such as cabins and lookouts will remain closed. Campground water systems will be turned on and tested during the first two weeks of June.
